Project name
The Henney Residence

Project description
Designed by Dennis E. Zirbel, Architect, this 3,150 square foot home has a magnificent great room, three bedrooms, three baths, a study, high-end kitchen, breakfast nook, and a two-car garage. The home is wood framed with site-built doug fir trusses in the great room, redwood ceilings, banister, trim and baseboards, plus peeled log details inside and outside. Additional woods used in the house include cherry cabinetry and alder flooring. The exterior is redwood resawn shakes, redwood trim, with stucco and stone masonry.

The owners were looking for something "lodge-like" but cozy. The unique design that evolved nestles the home into its natural setting. The connection with the natural environment was enhanced by the subtly of the wood trim and details. The details were crafted in simple, timeless styles from the arts and crafts period, and not only are they attractive but are comfortable to touch. The materials were then finished with natural oils for low-luster warmth.

"Caseywood works closely with us to provide the highest quality product to ensure that every job is the best home we can build for our clients. Our need for quality begins with framing materials, much of which are exposed in our finished homes. We rely upon the inherent color and grain patterns for design on interior trim and doors. Only quality products can be used this way and Caseywood provides us with that quality."
